Conference Overview

We are excited to invite you to participate in the C2A3 Annual Conference, “Shaping Tomorrow’s Agriculture,” a national gathering focused on advancing agriculture education, innovation, and workforce development through community colleges.

The Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement (C2A3) is a national network of community colleges dedicated to agriculture innovation and sustainability through education, partnerships, and advocacy. C2A3 is active in developing new agricultural pathways and in supporting the inclusion of promising new technologies and sustainable practices in the curriculum. Many of our partner institutions participate in applied research, utilizing experiential learning to teach students. Our business partners support activities on the farm and in the classroom

This year’s event is expected to attract more than 100 faculty and administrators from over 25 states, along with 40 top agriculture students participating in a national Student Leadership Track. USDA-NRCS partners and industry experts will also attend, creating valuable opportunities for networking, collaboration, and innovation.

What to expect this year:

  • 100+ faculty and administrators from 25+ states
  • 40 top agriculture students participating in a national leadership track
  • Strong participation from USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and other key partners
  • Meaningful opportunities to connect, collaborate, and drive innovation

This is more than a conference—it’s where the future of agriculture takes shape.

Pre-Conference Session Information

The Pre-Conference Session will be on Sunday, November 1st from 1:00pm - 4:30pm at the conference hotel. This workshop will provide an overview of CORD’s Framework for Career Pathways Alignment including ecosystem building, employer engagement, pathway mapping, stackable credentials, credit for prior learning, and holistic supports. Institutions attending this session will have the opportunity to bring a team to a 1.5 day workshop in early spring to focus on agriculture pathways and develop a local action plan. (Registration and travel to spring workshop will be covered for a select number of colleges.)

Building Industry-Responsive Pathways with Stackable Credentials

This preconference workshop will immerse you in best practices for career pathways development. You’ll dive into CORD’s Framework for Career Pathways Alignment to guide your team in:

  • Fostering partnerships to support your community’s Career Pathways ecosystem
  • Engaging employers through the Business & Industry Leadership Team (BILT) model
  • Building industry-responsive career pathways with stackable credentials
  • Using pathway maps to align programs and communicate with stakeholders
  • Integrating employability skill development to improve workforce readiness

Participants will draft an action plan focused on strategic pathway implementation and receive a toolbox of resources to engage with stakeholders.
